A commemorative album marking the first time a Japanese artist made his name in jazz history.
They continued to lead the world's big band jazz scene.
The album includes "Kogun," which shows the ultimate blend of Japanese and Western styles, and "Elegy," a remake of a representative song from the 1950s. Also noteworthy are the participating members Toshiko Akiyoshi on piano, composition and arrangement, and Takin on flute and tenor sax.
