A masterpiece album that includes "Autumn Leaves," a song that will remain in jazz historyThis album features Miles' exquisite trumpet playing in the heartwarming classic "Autumn Leaves," which was a standard chanson piece at the time but was later adapted for jazz. This is Cannonball's only Blue Note album, and the only album on which he is listed as a sideman for Miles Davis' Blue Note album. At the time, Miles was addicted to drugs and was unable to record, so Alfred Lion supported him and finally made it happen, but Miles signed with Columbia shortly after, so the album was released under Cannonball's name, not Miles'. |
