Released in 1971. A masterpiece that cemented Mal Waldron's popularity.

A jazz pianist and composer, he is active as a hard bop and soul jazz performer, and his versatility is on full display in this album.

Mal Waldron accompanied Billie Holiday in her later years. He produced this album five months before her death. The title song "Left Alone," with lyrics by Billie and music by Mal Waldron, is a must-listen.
