A URC compilation with songs selected by Keiichi Sogabe is now available on LP!
This album conveys to music fans of all generations the profound appeal of URC, which reflects the mental landscape of "young people" in the 1960s and 1970s.
URC (Underground Record Club) was founded in 1969 as a pioneer of Japanese indie labels, and ceased operations in the late 1970s. With many cutting-edge talents, including Wataru Takada, Kenji Endo, Go-tsu Akai Fuusen, Ryo Kagawa, Happy End, Nobuyasu Okabayashi, and others, URC can be said to be the father of Japanese folk/rock. From the vast catalog of music, Keiichi Sogabe (Sunny Day Service), who has a deep knowledge of URC, selected songs, and the compilation CD "The Dawn of City Folk ~ URC Selection Compiled by Keiichi Sogabe" was released in November 2024, which became a hot topic. It has been decided to release an analog LP version of the compilation CD. This time, Sogabe himself is in charge of both the jacket design and liner notes. All 11 songs are different from the CD version!
